Sony DSLR Alpha DSLR-A390L 14.2MP Digital Camera & 18-55 Lens + 4GB Kit – Review:
GREAT CAMERA, OKAY EXTRAS!
The Sony Alpha 390 is an excellent camera for beginners/hobbyists. The camera and the extra gear shipped a day earlier than expected, which was nice. Everything arrived in excellent condition. I’m very happy with the performance of the camera. The extra gear isn’t the nicest, but worth the extra $20. The tripod is a standard entry level model, nothing special. The same is true of the camera bag. The SD card is extremely cheap, and I would recommend planning on getting something else to use with your camera. The SD card I received became corrupted after only two days of using it. This is the only thing keeping this from getting a 5/5. The instructional DVD was nice, but is target at people new to photography, or people moving up from taking family snapshots.
However, the SD card issues do not reflect the quality of the camera at all. It is definitively a nice entry level model. I’ve fallen in love with the tilting LCD. The picture quality is great. I would definitely recommend this camera for anyone who is new to photography. The major downside for a lot of people is the lack of video recording, but for me this was not an issue.
Overall the camera is great, a 5/5, but the additional accessories are a little cheap, and the SD card is terrible.
