Canon’s New Super-Telephoto Lenses Delayed Until Further Notice

Canon's New SuperCanon has updated the availability information for three new lenses coming in 200-400mm, 500mm and 600mm sizes. Unfortunately, it’s not the good kind of update. All three lenses are now listed as “availability yet to be determined.”

The news about the 500mm and 600mm will certainly be ill received by those waiting for the lenses. They were announced over a year ago as “in development” and were expected to launch soon. At $10,499 and $12,999, these aren’t lenses for your average photographer.

All Canon has to say in terms of specifics is that each lens will be made available “as soon as possible.”
