The Open to Interpretation photo competition is more than just a photography competition. It brings poets and writers into the fold, each creating works based on the winning photos, all of which will be published in a high-quality book.
“Fading Light” is the theme of the current competition. You can interpret that however you like, but the official website suggests that use of darkness, shadow and even the twilight hours are good starting points. You can enter in any genre of photograph. Both color and black and white photographs are welcome.
The cash prize for a winning photograph is $300, but even more exciting is that other artists will be using your photograph as inspiration for their work. You can check out all the details and register for entry at the Open to Interpretation website.
