If you’re thinking of picking up Sony’sCarl Zeiss Sonnar 24mm lens for your NEX camera, you’re going to want to get on it quick. The company has just announced a shortage of the lens resulting from unexpectedly high demand – something that comes as a bit of a surprise considering the cost of the lens.
The Sonnar 24mm lens utilizes seven aperture blades that allow for a defocused background effect when set to completely open. The first E-mount Zeiss lens also supports Direct Manual Focus which lets you take manual control after the autofocus locks on.
The folks over at Sony say that they’re working hard to produce more of these lenses and they apologize to those customers forced to wait.
