The folks over at Eye-Fi have been the sole horse in the Wi-Fi memory card race for quite some time, but Toshiba is about to change all that. The company has announced their first SDHC card with Wi-Fi capabilities.
They’re calling it the FlashAir and it’s coming in an 8GB capacity. The card allows you to transfer from one device to another or upload and download to servers. You can even transfer to your smartphone if it’s Wi-Fi enabled. Not enough? FlashAir compliant cameras can transfer pictures to each other.
Toshiba hasn’t announced a price for the FlashAir yet, and the cards are still a little way off. Sales won’t be starting until February 12th.
