Starting in April, Toshiba will be selling not just a new line of SD cards, but a completely new brand, known as Exceria. Under this name, Toshiba plans to release only cards that operate at “the highest performance levels available.”
Toshiba says that when used with a UHS-I compatible device, you’ll be getting read and write speeds that bottom out at 10MB/s. At the max, you’ll see read speeds of 90MB/s and write speeds ranging from 30MB/s to 90MB/s depending on the type of card you’re using.
There’s no word yet on an exact release for these cards or a pricing structure to go with them. Toshiba’s new Exceria cards will launch in Japan next month.
